Black Shadow

Okay, so obviously I'm not talking about the movie here, but I hope you get my drift.

So August is finally here *Yay!*

....

Don't all clap and yell at once. Jeesh!

Anyway, with the month that is ought eight of ought eight this is probably going to be the busiest month I will have all summer, if not the whole year. I don't know how much I will get done on writing a certain project you've all been patiently waiting for *ahem 12th Disciple ahem* but rest assured that writing is indeed scheduled.

First of all I have to apologize for the lack of updates recently. I really wanted to talk about the Dark Knight, which of course was awesome *if you have a chance see it in IMAX, much better. Trust me, all you have to remember is Fuzzy Slippers*

Anyway, I also wanted to do a few shout outs to people too, however that will have to wait. In the meantime, here is a quick and dirty version of what I will be doing this month. Oh, and if you are going to be in and around these areas that I'm in, please feel free to find me and be all fanboy and fangirlish. I'm totally okay with that. Except if you're creepy, that's just....creepy.

So here goes:

August 9th:
Pure Pwnage Double Feature Screening

I'll be hanging out with my friends from the Pure Pwnage Crew there.

August 16-17th:
Niagara On The Lake 2008 Social Media Meetup
Prince of Wales Hotel - NOTL

This is really exciting! I'll actually be speaking at this conference! This is so cool. I'll be talking about Podcast Novels, how to write them, record/edit them, then market them. Please, please, please, please sign up for this if you're in the area. I would love to meet all of you.

August 23rd:
Toronto Fan Expo 2008

As I have for the past few years, I will be attending the Fan Expo as Press, I'm really excited about some of the guests this year, and I hope I get to talk to them.

That's right I'll be moving to the big teedot, by the end of this month, so if you're in Toronto, send me an email I would love to hang out. Maybe see if I can get a Twitter meetup out of this.

August 28th - Sep 1st
Dragon*Con 2008
Atlanta GA

This hasn't been 100 percent confirmed, it's like 85.654% though that I will be attending Dragon*Con this year! This will be my first year going, so I'm really nervous, but excited. I will have more on this as soon as I get 100% confirmation, but let's just say I have a HUGE Public Shout Out for this one.

Things are gearing up at Snowball Central. Tests are being conducted, Scientists are scooping Snowballs from Mars, and the BBQ's are heating up. Today is a day for updates, this is update 2 of 4 for June 16th 2008.

It's been a while since Black Shadow has finished it's run here at SSdN (That's short for http://stevesaylor.net), but for some of you, roughly about 524 of you have been left in the dark as to the final moments of Black Shadows fate. Does he die? Does he defeat the Demons from taking over the world?

It's been a rough ride for our beloved blind technologically advanced hero, and it's an even rougher ride for those who are listening.

Suffice it to say that is my fault and then it wasn't.

Let me explain, I released Episode 14 of Black Shadow about a month ago and it's been hard letting this story go. I have lived and breathed this story for over a year now and updating the Podiobooks.com version of the book is literally the last part left in this year long journey. As soon as the final episode goes live, that's it. The book is finally finished. Part of me doesn't want this to finish, and yet I know it must.

So I am here to tell you all that the final episode of the Podiobooks version of Black Shadow has been sent to the great team at podiobooks.com and soon (hopefully before mid-week)you shall hear the final chapters of my very first book.

I'm currently sitting at Starbucks hoping the wi-fi holds out so I can post this. This is so good that I had to share this with you all. A fan/listener of Black Shadow, who shall be named the Hawesome Chi Tenshi sent me this great piece of art to which I immediately did the Snoopy Dance.

This picture is a depiction of a scene in Episode #11 of Black Shadow where Shadow is lying in the hospital bed in the angel's underground facility to which he meets Michael for the first time. Steve "Snowball" Saylor

After releasing Episode 12 of Black Shadow, I am slowly beginning to realize that my first podiobook adventure is coming to a close. I also realized that as of this month i have been working on Black Shadow for exactly one year. this has probably been one of the longest personal projects that I have ever worked on.

I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Personally, I'm glad and I'm sad that it's over. I'm glad that a lot of hard work, is finally done. It feels like I accomplished something really fun, and could set me up for the rest of my life. I'm also saddened, because now I have to face the unknown again and see about looking into other projects to work on.

I'm not ready to say anything yet, however, I am going to say I am goiong to continue to write. I am going to continue to podcast what I write. As a matter of fact I have two possibly three other projects I could work on to bring to all of you.

I wish I could say more, but I can tell you that at least one of them will come to fruition around the end of May. So you won't have to wait that long to see what the next project will be.

I have made some awesome friends in this community, have expanded my own personal audience ten fold, and I have you all to thank for that. It means a lot when you send me an email telling me you like my work. I can't tell you how awesome that makes me feel. I'm not anywhere in the Superstar Podcast Author Status yet, but you all make me feel that way. So thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, a million times Thank you!
