Ground Control to Major Tom….
-
Hey there Geeks, Geekettes, and Cousin Its!
I bet you are wondering as to how I have infiltrated your inbox today. Well it's all very simple actually. By using Satellite GPS Triangulation, and some unix haxors skills, I was able to ascertain your email addresses from the CIA database. To which some of you have large files there. You should be ashamed!
Okay time to be serious….
A-wop-ba-baloo-bop-a-wop-bam-boom!
Okay for real this time.
…
That's better.
As I was saying, if you are receiving this email, it's because I have created an email newsletter for stevesaylor.net and as being a user of stevesaylor.net I have added you all to it. I created this newsletter for general updates, special news, and so forth for anything going on with stevesaylor.net.
You have the option if you so wish to unsubscribe yourself from this newsletter by clicking the link below to remove yourself from the list. It's totally okay, I won't get mad…..much!!
At any rate, I am sending out this email today because stevesaylor.net has had another major overhaul over this past weekend.
For those who may or may not know, there is a podcast run by Adam Curry called “The Daily Source Code.” It is one of the first, if not the first podcast and it is extremely popular. Well I had the pleasure of having a comment of mine played on the latest episode DSC-740. The Good News is, Adam liked my comment so much that I am the official Albino of The Daily Source Code. Which is really cool, and I'm happy to be a part of the show to a certain degree. The only thing is though, when I mentioned stevesaylor.net in the comment, little did I know how big Adam's audience really was. Within 24 hours, the site had become completely unusable and was breaking in places. Some couldn't get access to the site, and some modules were breaking under the bandwidth strain. Don't worry, it didn't affect my web hosting bandwidth costs. I have plenty of bandwidth to go around. However, with that said, I had no idea that the latest version of Drupal, version 6, caused the break down. Apparently version 6 is so new that it still is a bit unstable. So in a last ditch effort I have downgraded to Drupal 5.7 which is now live.
Everything is back to the way they were, for the majority. The only problem with the downgrade was that user pictures are gone, as well as the comments some of you had made on the site. Those were beyond redemption unfortunately. So if you want to login and re-add those pictures and comments, by all means click http://stevesaylor.net/user/login to login.
So to make this longer story short, unfortunately Black Shadow Episode #12 is going to have to be postponed until next week. I am going to try to get the Street Team set up like I promised. It was ready to be launched for the release of Episode 12, but with the site complications, that will be pushed to sometime this week.
At either case, I hope this day treats you well, and as always I remain, obediently yours.
Steve “Snowball” Saylor
