I like the preacher too. He was always one of my favorites. As for swearing, I tried to make it as PG-13 as possible. Personally I don't like swearing, but I do have it in there because it fits the characters and expresses their emotions. I'm of the camp of it warrants the character swearing I'll have it in, if it doesn't I'll leave it out. I wouldn't have a character say "oh shoot" if he is in trouble, it sounds fake and cheesy if he does. If the character is like that where he doesn't swear it works.
