Hey there geeks, geekettes, and cousin ITs,

Finally I have the time to actually sit down and blog something. Not to say it's uber important or anything, but hey it's….something right?

Anyway, I wanted to tell you something that happened tonight that is too long to fit into a Twitter Tweet. Hehe, that phrase sounds funny to me, “twitter tweet.” It's funny in a “It's-not-a-sexual-innuendo-joke-but-a-cute-giggle-funny-joke”

Meh, maybe it's just me.

So there I was @ work, minding my own business. Being bored as usual. If you've seen my latest Twitter Tweets (heehee) over the past few days, you would know how crappy the day job has been lately. I really don't like having to work there, which led me to think about writing as a career. Now, I know for me, writing as a career sounds fun for the first fifteen minutes, but I foresee for me that I may not be as successful as I would like to be to sustain a living off of writing, at least to start off. It would be akin to being an actor who has to work at so many different jobs just so they can say they are an actor. I know it's a very gross comparison between the two, but for me starting off, I would like a career path that does not start completely in suckage.

So, I began to think well what if I don't pursue writing as a career all together. But, then I thought about how much fun I had writing Black Shadow, and having fun showing it to you guys/gals/its. So which led me to think that maybe I can be a writer after all.

So here in lies the dilemma. To be or not to be, that is really the question.

Then it hit me. After about half an hour, I had my answer. Who's to say I can't have my cake and eat it too with the cherry on top? Not sure what I mean? Well, what if I pursue writing as a sub-career. One that could provide a really good income later, but has potential to start off okay, but it would not be my full time career. I want to work in radio broadcasting, I know that I could be good at it. So why not do both? I think that may be the key into having a really good and productive life, is find different little things you like doing or accomplishing and create small sub-careers out of them.

So then I thought about the amount of possibilities that can come with having sub-careers. I could work in radio, I could be a writer, I could be a voice actor, I could be working in TV. Does that mean they would be full time jobs? Yeah it might be, but I don't have to be uber successful in all of them. I mean if I wanted to work in TV, I would be happy to be an intern or working with the On-Air Personalities. For radio, I could be a morning, or afternoon DJ, but I don't have to be the next George Stombo (Canadian Radio/TV Personality mainly on CBC here in Canada).

Now, will I be taking out the potential of being more successful in any of those sub-careers, no of course not. If something comes up, that would be beneficial to me, then sure I'll take it. But I don't have to rely on getting ahead in a company if I know I could be happy doing the little sub-careers that I already have going.

I don't know, maybe it's just my odd thinking at midnight when I'm bored at work, but to me they make sense damnit! So there!

Now you can go about whatever it is you do on the Internet. And if you're surfing those porn sites, make sure you wear protection, you never know with all those pop-ups that are going around. Then again that may be your thing.

Let me know what you think. Would love your feedback on the subject. (The sub-careers, not the porn)

As always, I remain, obediently yours.
