I have a question for everyone who frequents this blog. I being a consumer of DVD's love the special features. My family only buying the standard editions of any movie, which makes me upset, means that I have to purchase my own copy of the same movie with the special edition discs. One of my favourite features is the DVD Commentaries. You get to hear the filmmakers, the writers, the producers, and sometimes even the actors themselves get to talk about the process of making the movie which to me is like Movie Trivia Gold.
I loooove learning about the behind the scenes of any show or movie that I enjoy.
I only bring this up because I have since February been making my own Fan DVD Commentaries for Geek movies on my podcast This Week in Geek. This to me is the best part about our show in that not only we strive to bring you weekly geek content, but we expand by actually watching movies and recording our own commentary for it. Mike and I along with several special guests get to give our own Trivia of whatever movie we are watching, and even make fun of things that we think are just funny. Much like MST3K we take apart movies we love and have fun with it.
So if you are a fan of Commentaries like I am, below are links to movies we have recorded Fan Commentaries on, and if you have suggestions for movies you would like to hear Commentaries on email us at feedback@thisweekingeek.net or comment on this post. Would love to hear your suggestions.

Okay, so I lie a little bit. I'm not really going to fully reveal all the details about said writing project, but at least a few small tid-bits of said writing project.
For those who have been following my Jaiku account you would have noticed a few posts about a “Super Secret Writing Project” that I've been working on. I know, I know, I should have talked about it here on my blog. But before my avid readers get upset, I have had good reason not to mention this sooner. I wanted to get deep into the project so that I have something to write about, instead of just an idea that may not become reality.
Well, I'm here to tell you today, that I have reached the 1/3 mark of the project, and I can now talk about it.
Suffice it to say I am writing a novel. Yes, that's right a novel.
I've been toying with writing a book for some time now, and I have had several good ideas and some great ideas that I have to wait until later to do. However, the novel idea I'm working on is going to be a podcast novel. Yes, much like the Rat Pack of J.C. Hutchins, Scott Sigler, and Tee Morris of podcast novels, I am venturing into that same world, with I hope, an eager and ever growing audience. That is the goal anyway.
The novel idea has only been fully revealed to a few close friends of mine and the feedback I am getting is they love it, and I'm doing a good job. And that is their criticizing comments. At any rate, even Shadow Falls writer Mark Yoshimoto Nemcoff has been privy to some details of the story, and he even talks about it on one of his podcasts. It's Word Sushi number 3 or 2 I believe. And he thinks its a really cool idea as well. Mark, if you're reading this, thanks!
Now, since I've been babbling about the said “idea” for several paragraphs now, I feel I must give some details in regards to it. The story is a superhero story. But this story has an interesting angle that I don't think has been looked into before, which even Mark has mentioned. I wish I could give more info than that, but I wanted to tease you all a little about it, and let it simmer in your brains as to what the All Mighty Snowball can come up which that would make you want to listen as a podcast each week.
What I can tell you is that the plan is to have the book finished and hopefully edited by the end of this summer, and ready to be podcasted by the Fall or Winter of this year. That's the plan anyway, if it works, it works. If not, well let's just say my goal is to have this out to you all soon, and by hook or by crook it will be done.
So anyway, stay tuned to this blog for more updates in regards to the Super Secret Writing Project, and how it's coming along.
Take care, and as always, I remain, obediently yours…
Toodles!

For those who know me, and know me well. I love Starbucks. It's a given. Sometimes, it's even an obsession. I have tried to curb the addiction, but I don't know whether it's the addictive stimulants talking, but I love the creative atmosphere here. It's something that I can't get enough of. At any rate, I used to be able to blog quite frequently at Starbucks using it's freely available wi-fi access. However, lately, the connection here has some filters that for some reason doesn't load the text field properly when trying to compose a post, and it won't let me enter anything into the Body text field. So I was heartbroken. I was devastated. Why Starbucks?! Why have you forsaken me? Well, no more!!! Ha!! Thanks to MacBreak Weekly, I have since learned of MarsEdit and it's brand new posting to Vox feature! Woootage to the bootage! I can now blog in my most favorite place in the world, besides home…..and Florida. Until I see you again, I remain obediently yours. Toodles! Steve “Snowball” Saylor

I have no idea if the title for this post will actually indicate what I'm writing here, but hey I got a chuckle from thinking of it, so there! Ha!
Wow, I can't believe I've been lacking in my blogging as of late. That past sentence I wish I could ignore like that cancerous growth on my neck, but hey it's there and nothing I can do about it (That was random and odd, and this blogger doesn't represent the humour of cancerous growths on anything let alone condoning the suppression of necks).
At any rate, life for me, in the past while since I have made a personal post about myself, has well….moved on.
Life is life and some things happen that you don't expect. Like failing a film production class!!! Yay!
So in case if you missed the sarcasm, yes I was, and still am a bit upset that it happened. It's something I kind of expected, but the reality of said failing grade didn't hit me until I received that fateful sheet of dead tree telling me I failed by four percent. Yes that's right four percent. Of course I could immediately come up with excuses about as to why I had failed, and even being a public person on Ted Steven's Tubes it's hard to admit failure, but then I realize that failures in life are not failures but only setbacks.
“But, Steve you're taking the glass is half full approach.” And, yes I am. But why is there such a distinction that people who have glasses half full or half empty. Why categorize life situations as winnings or failures. If I take into account all the negative things, or failures, that have happened to me this year over the positives I would be in the glass half empty cup. And yet I don't feel that way. As I'm writing this I don't know why I feel this way, but I do.
Damnit I should be upset! I mean it's only a healthy emotion!
And yet the only emotion that can be felt is patience. I know it isn't an emotion, but I'm patient because yes failing a course means a whole year extra to my studies has just been added. However, I feel fine about it. Before I got into the Broadcasting program I would get upset and stressed, and freaked out over a piece of info that financial aid needed that I didn't have to give and it would mean everything was over for me. And yet now, i don't feel that way anymore.
Does it mean I'm getting older, or wiser, or apathetic?
Maybe a bit of all three.
So as I leave this post and if you have actually read this far, I would encourage you to think of any failure as only a setback. Minor or major it doesn't matter. Failure is just another way of saying, okay so your current path has a huge log that crashed down blocking your way.
Let's find a chainsaw.
Toodles!
I have a few trees to disect.
