You ever have one of those days where everything is coming at you so fast that you all of a sudden slow down enough to realize that everything is coming at you so fast?
Does that even make sense? Well at 3am, yes, yes it does.
Wow what a rollercoaster ride of life I've been on. And thank God that I'm on the fun going down part. The radio show This Week in Geek is going so extremely well. My expectations for this show have far far far far far far surpassed anything I could've imagined. Not only have we in only just a month launch the show, launch a website, get permission to podcast our show, been featured in our college newspaper, and being told we have the top rated program on the station, but in a few hours I'm heading to Toronto to attend PodCamp where we hope we can expand our audience even more to our podcasting friends.
I can't tell you how happy I am with the show. The on-air chemistry Mike and I have is incredible. Honestly I've only known him less than a month and it seems as if we have been friends for years. People have noticed too. Even radio professionals have told both of us that we should get into radio full time. That's how good people are saying we are. Everyday Mike and I keep telling ourselves that we rule just because we are so happy of the outcome that this show has given us. We are definitely not ruling out possibly doing this show as a full time paying job.
That's weird for me. I mean I've been involved with cool projects before, like SWack, and The War Room, and I honestly loved doing those shows, but this is different. The goals we have on this show seem more attainable than before.
Anyway, I know I keep ranting on just the show, but my life recently is still just as good. Not as great as I would like, but hey things happen, and I know things are going to change soon. Especially on the front of creative writing. I want to write more stories. I've been dying to write more creatively, but when I sit down to do it, life priorities distract me. I know that's part of life and the things you want to do sometimes take the backburner, but I am going to try within the next week(next week for me is Spring Break) to actually sit down and flesh out the majority of the book I want to write.
Anyway, I will leave you to your web surfings as you ride these tubes, make sure you stop by and comment to me. Talk to me Internet. Tell me what your part of the rollercoaster of life you are on.
Toodles! See you in Toronto!

A bowl shaped device lowers down onto our hero's head. Flashing lights and wires cover its outer surface while foam that normally is covering the inside of expensive equipment cases cover the inside to make the device as “comfortable” as possible. The glowing red light of the big control panel beside our hero is glowing like a Police Siren
Our hero looks up at the LED clock that is above his head. He can see the numbers tick down second by second while a computerized female voice counts down with him.
T minus 10….9….8….7….
Sweat starts to form on our hero's forehead, already staining the inside foam.
6….5….4…
Our hero grips the arm rests of the metal chair he is strapped to “for his own protection”
3…..2…….
Our hero cringes…..
….1…….Initiate Vox Brain Dump…..Blogging initiated.
So as I sit here on my dad's computer wondering if I'll ever get my main PC back or any other computer for that matter, I begin to think about what has happened to me in the past little bit. Obviously the Live Lab Rats blogging and the new radio show aside, it has been a busy week. So much so that I haven't seen my friends in almost 3 weeks now. It's sad, I know that they want to hang out, and some need help with computer stuff, but I can't be with them as much as I want to.
Granted I am having fun with what I'm doing, but sometimes it feels like what I am doing may not matter much.
That is until this past Wednesday. The radio show went extremely well. My co-host Mike “The Birdman” Dodd and I started our first ever Specialty radio show not with a whimper or a “meh” but with a freakin BANG! and a BOOM!
We literally crashed the Internet streaming servers. It kept buffering throughout the entire hour we were on the air. We know that it was due to the influx of people tuning in, and if you were one of them, THANK YOU! It really showed the Program Director here at the station that our show is definitely something that people enjoy. Now how confident are we that tit was people tuning in to our show that caused the buffering and not some random computer streaming glitch? Well, we started recording the show firfteen minutes before and after the show and there was no buffering whatsoever during those times. From the beginning of our show right to the end it started buffering like crazy!
Man I have never been so happy to see technology fail like that.
Suffice it to say we had a great chemistry together. Which is freakin' cool because my co-host and I talked as if we were friends for years, and yet we only knew each other for a few days. Isn't that odd? Even with all that, it made me realize how much fun I have in being on radio and on TV, because it feels so natural to me. It feels as natural as putting on pants. Oh yes I said pants. Anyway, it felt so good to be on air again that I now have a new focus on Broadcasting that I didn't have before, and I think I found my niche in it. That's freakin' hawesome!
At any rate we are still continuing the show every Wednesday at 4:30pm EST on 90.1 FM The New Heat. Sof if you want to talk to us email us at feedback@thisweekingeek.net or go to thisweekingeek.net for all the updates.
Hmmm, okay what else has been on my mind lately?
Oh yeah the book writing front. I have changed my direction for the book. Ever since the tech support story submissions were pretty much non-existant, I had to re-focus my energy to something that I could write and very easily put together. Hence why I'm moving into different creative writing outlets for my new book which easily translates from tech support to my new topic which is being a geek. I admit it, I am a geek and it feels so good to be one, that I want to write about it and then to make me happy to perform it in front of an audience. I think honestly that is my ultimate “freakin' once in a lifetime” moments. To be able to travel to different places and perform my material from my book to an audience and get paid to do it. I think that would be sweet. Anyway, the book is still in progress and will be tweaked out more sometime in the near future.
What else…..what else…..
I think thats it. Just loving life and waiting to see what cool thin will happen next.
That's it for me.
Toodles!
